Dr. Ross McKinney, Director, Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities & History of Medicine, Duke University, will discuss why conflict of interest has become such a hot topic in academic circles, focusing on some critical cases that drew government attention. Constructive approaches to the management of conflicts of interest and presentation of models that can allow research to proceed with academic integrity protected will be offered, followed by interactive audience comment and discussion.
